The beaches of Praia dos Frades and São Bernardino are two smalls beaches 7 km south from Peniche, that can offer some waves if conditions are right.
Main peaks
The beach of São Bernardino, on the north, can offer right shoulders on the north side of the bay that come almost into the shore. Be aware of some rock appearing when tide gets too shallow. The wave forming on this beach does not have an amazing quality and usually does not form a rippable wall, so you may manage easier with a big board of even a foamie.
The beach of Praia dos Frades, on the south, offers a right wave breaking in front of the sightseeing point and ending almost in the middle of the bay. This wave is as well a bit more playful and allows some maneuvers on shorter boards.
Access to the spot
Easy access through a regional road. Around the two spots there’s a small settlement of houses without too many services apart from a cafe.
