With all the west and south borders of the country being dipped in the Atlantic ocean, Portugal has sure many renowned surf towns.
The most famous surf villages and cities are the following.

Ericeira
Ericeira became a World Surf Reserve in 2011 and since then its a renowned surf destination. Since 2020 and 2021 boomed as a surf and digital nomad destination, competing with fame with top notch surf paradises from all over the world.

Peniche
Peniche is a mandatory stop for any avid surfer visiting Portugal. Here there are some of the most consistent spots, some of them holding WSL competitions. Peniche area has a wide variety of orientations and surf spots for all surfing levels.

Sagres
Sagres, Algarve and the west coast from Alentejo, feature some of the most known surf spots in Portugal and Europe.

Porto
Less busy compared to south of the country, the region around Porto sure has some good and proper surf to offer.

Lisbon
